Free Minds Thrive Academy is brought to you by Free Minds Thrive, LLC
Our Commitment to Safety
- Empowering teens to explore with confidence – We create an environment where members can engage openly while knowing their safety matters first. Free speech is encouraged and expected, but there is zero tolerance for anything illegal or inappropriate.
- Partnership with families – Parents and guardians remain an essential part of a teen’s journey with us. We encourage transparency and communication every step of the way. To further promote this, we host a monthly parent review call that any member parent may attend to get updates on what we’re focused on, to ask questions, and more.
- Continuous monitoring and improvement – We regularly review and enhance our safety practices to stay ahead of new challenges.
Community Standards
To ensure Free Minds Thrive Academy is a welcoming, uplifting space, all members (both the parents/guardians and the teen learners) agree to:
- Treat themselves and others with respect and kindness.
- Maintain a curious and open mind.
- Use empowering and constructive language.
- Protect their own privacy and the privacy of others.
- Avoid harmful, inappropriate, illegal, or unsafe behavior.
Any actions that go against these standards may result in temporary suspension or permanent removal from the Academy (where membership may be ended immediately and no refunds provided, with a detailed reason for removal provided to the parent), at the sole discretion of the Free Minds Thrive Academy team.
Privacy & Security
We safeguard personal information so teens can engage confidently.
- Personal details are kept private and never shared without consent.
- We follow strict data protection practices to protect both teens and families.
- Secure technology (using the Zoom platform for all live meetings) keeps communication and learning spaces protected.
- Class recordings are not to be shared outside of viewing within the Free Minds Thrive Academy member portal, and all such recordings are edited from the original full recording to protect learner privacy.
- Live classes may only be attended by active members of Free Minds Thrive Academy.
- Parents may request access to the full original meeting recording if there are any specific concerns, at the discretion of the Free Minds Thrive Academy team on a case-by-case basis.
Safety Features
Moderation tools – Community interactions (such as discussion groups/forums, chats, and more) are monitored to prevent harmful content.
Reporting options – Teens and parents can report concerning behavior directly, and our team will respond quickly.
Identity and content checks – Members are verified at the start of each class, club or coaching session, and all content is recorded and reviewed to uphold our safety and quality standards.
Role of Parents & Guardians
Free Minds Thrive Academy works hand-in-hand with families. Parents and guardians:
- Should monitor your learner’s participation (or designate a responsible adult to do so) in Free Minds Thrive Academy class, club and coaching sessions. Learners interact with the teacher and other learners over group video chat or by posting and commenting in the community area.
- Approve membership and ongoing participation.
- Have access to resources about teen online safety.
- Can contact Free Minds Thrive Academy anytime with questions or concerns: support@freemindsthrive.com
Transparency & Accountability
We believe trust is built through openness. That’s why we:
- Share clear community guidelines.
- Provide regular updates on our safety practices.
- Respond quickly to reports or issues raised by members and families.
Class (and Other) Recordings
All class, club and private 1:1 coaching sessions are recorded for everyone’s safety.
Class and club recordings may be made available upon request by the registered parent/guardian on a case-by-case basis (approved for situations where there is a concern by the parent, at the sole discretion of the Free Minds Thrive Academy team).
Class recordings may also be made available indefinitely for future access for all active members, but will be edited to remove learners from the video in order to focus the video on the primary educational content for future viewers.
Club and private 1:1 coaching session recordings are NOT shared with the community for future viewing in any capacity. These recordings are, however, stored for a period of time for future reference in case there are any issues or concerns by parents, learners, Free Minds Thrive Academy, authorities, etc. Videos are first recorded by Zoom (occasionally stored on the cloud), then downloaded onto a Free Minds Thrive Academy computer system, then moved to an encrypted storage device.
Working Together
Creating a safe and thriving space for teens requires all of us — teens, parents, and our Academy team. By joining Free Minds Thrive Academy, you’re part of a community dedicated to growth, respect, and the empowerment of young people.
Together, we’ll build a place where teens can confidently connect, discover who they are, and take meaningful steps toward the future they want to create.
If you have any concerns at all, please reach out: support@freemindsthrive.com
