At Free Minds Thrive Academy, we believe teens thrive when they feel safe, respected, and empowered. Our community is built on trust, and we’re committed to protecting the well-being of every member. Whether you’re here to connect, grow, or learn, we want you to know we’ve put thoughtful guidelines and safeguards in place to keep this space positive, supportive, and safe.
Our Commitment to Safety
- Empowering teens to explore with confidence – We create an environment where members can engage openly while knowing their safety matters first. Free speech is encouraged and expected, but there is zero tolerance for anything illegal or inappropriate.
- Partnership with families – Parents and guardians remain an essential part of a teen’s journey with us. We encourage transparency and communication every step of the way.
- Continuous monitoring and improvement – We regularly review and enhance our safety practices to stay ahead of new challenges.
Community Standards
To ensure Free Minds Thrive Academy is a welcoming, uplifting space, all members agree to:
- Treat themselves and others with respect and kindness.
- Maintain a curious and open mind.
- Use empowering and constructive language.
- Protect their own privacy and the privacy of others.
- Avoid harmful, inappropriate, illegal, or unsafe behavior.
Any actions that go against these standards may result in removal from the Academy (where membership will be ended immediately and no refunds provided, with detailed reason for removal provided to the parent).
Privacy & Security
We safeguard personal information so teens can engage confidently.
- Personal details are kept private and never shared without consent.
- We follow strict data protection practices to protect both teens and families.
- Secure technology (using the Zoom platform) keeps communication and learning spaces protected.
- Class recordings are not to be shared outside of viewing within the Free Minds Thrive Academy member portal.
Safety Features
Moderation tools – Community interactions are monitored to prevent harmful content.
Reporting options – Teens and parents can report concerning behavior directly, and our team will respond quickly.
Identity and content checks – Members are verified at the start of each class, club or coaching session, and all content is recorded and reviewed to uphold our safety and quality standards.
Role of Parents & Guardians
Free Minds Thrive Academy works hand-in-hand with families. Parents and guardians:
- Should monitor your learner’s participation (or designate a responsible adult to do so) in Free Minds Thrive Academy class, club and coaching sessions. Learners interact with the teacher and other learners over group video chat or by posting and commenting in the community area.
- Approve membership and ongoing participation.
- Have access to resources about teen online safety.
- Can contact Free Minds Thrive Academy anytime with questions or concerns: [email protected]
Transparency & Accountability
We believe trust is built through openness. That’s why we:
- Share clear community guidelines.
- Provide regular updates on our safety practices.
- Respond quickly to reports or issues raised by members and families.
Class (and Other) Recordings
All class, club and private coaching sessions are recorded for everyone's safety.
Class recordings are uploaded for access by all members for future viewing. They may be slightly edited (at the discretion of the Free Minds Thrive Academy team) to remove or expand upon the class content.
Club and private coaching session recordings are NOT shared with the community for future viewing. These recordings are, however, stored for future reference in case there are any issues or concerns by parents, learners, Free Minds Thrive Academy, etc.
Working Together
Creating a safe and thriving space for teens requires all of us — teens, parents, and our Academy team. By joining Free Minds Thrive Academy, you’re part of a community dedicated to growth, respect, and the empowerment of young people.
Together, we’ll build a place where teens can confidently connect, discover who they are, and take meaningful steps toward the future they want to create.
